Change customer details and export customers

You change a customer's phone, name or address by editing an order that belongs to them, and you can export your customer list to a CSV file from the Customers page.

Change a customer's phone, name or address

You cannot edit a customer directly from the Customers page. To change their phone, name, email or address, you must edit an order belonging to them.

1. Open Orders and find any order from that customer.
2. Open the order.
3. Scroll to the Customer section at the top of the form.
4. Change the Phone, Name, Email, or Address or City fields.
5. Click Save changes or Update order at the bottom.

When you change the phone number, the customer's record updates. If the new phone matches a different customer, the order moves to that customer's record. If it does not match anyone, the original customer's phone is updated.

Good to know: If you change the phone to one you used in an earlier order, the system recognises it as a Returning customer and fills in their saved name and address. If your address differs from theirs, a box appears: Saved address is different. Click Use this to keep your address or Address you entered to use their saved one.

Phone number formats Omnikyo accepts

Omnikyo normalises Bangladeshi mobile numbers automatically. The phone you type is converted to 01XXXXXXXXX (11 digits).

Omnikyo uses 4 normalisation steps:

1. Removes spaces, dashes, + and brackets — so +880 171-234-5678 becomes 8801712345678.
2. Drops 880 from the start, or drops the first 4 digits if it starts 00 — so 8801712345678 becomes 01712345678, and 008801712345678 also becomes 01712345678.
3. If the result is 10 digits and starts with 1, adds a leading 0 — so 1712345678 becomes 01712345678.
4. Validates the result is exactly 01 + one digit from 3 to 9 + 8 more digits.

Accepted numbers include: +8801712345678, 8801712345678, 008801712345678, 01712345678, 1712345678, 017-1234-5678.

These are rejected: 010XXXXXXXX (third digit 0), 011XXXXXXXX (third digit 1), 012XXXXXXXX (third digit 2), +8809123456789 (invalid prefix), any 10-digit number not starting with 1, landlines.

What happens when you type an invalid number:

• In the Orders form: the form keeps what you typed. When you save, the field shows the number as-is. If the customer was saved before with a valid number, the Returning chip appears and their details fill in; if not, New customer appears.
• In the Customers list: search does not normalise. Typing +880171 will not match a stored 01712345678; typing 1712345 will.

The Returning / New customer chip on the order form updates as you type — once the phone reaches 11 characters (after normalisation), Omnikyo looks it up in your business.

Export customers to a CSV file

You can export your customer list from the Customers page. Each export takes only the rows shown on the current page (50 per page), so to download everyone, you must export page by page.

1. Open Customers.
2. Search or filter to the customers you want (optional).
3. Select the checkboxes for the customers you want to export. Check the Select all customers on this page checkbox at the top of the table to select the whole page.
4. A bar appears: select Export CSV.
5. A file named customers-YYYY-MM-DD.csv (today's date in Dhaka time) downloads to your computer. Open it in Excel or Google Sheets.

The CSV has 7 columns: Name, Phone, Email, City, Address, Success rate, Joined. Success rate shows the Pathao percentage (blank if not yet looked up). Joined is the date in yyyy-MM-dd format.

The page limit is 50 per export. To download all customers, go through your list page by page and export each one.

Questions people ask

Can I edit a customer directly from the Customers page?

No. You must open an order and change the field there.

Does changing a customer's phone in an order create a duplicate?

No. The system checks the phone you entered. If it matches an existing customer in your business, the order moves to that customer; if not, the original customer's phone is updated. You cannot create a duplicate by changing a phone.

Will changing a customer's phone break their delivery record?

No. The delivery record stays with the phone number, so when you change it to a different phone, the new phone's history appears next time.

Can I delete a customer?

No. Customers are created automatically when you add an order, and there is no delete button anywhere.

Can I merge two customers with the same person?

No. There is no merge feature.
