Troubleshooting

Settings and account problems

Fix profile edits that won't save, email confirmation issues, passkey problems, two-step code failures and permission errors.

Where to find it: Sidebar › Settings › Profile and security (and other Settings pages).

Your profile changes won't save

What you see: After editing your full name, email or phone and trying to save, an error message appears or the changes don't stick.

Why it happens: The profile edit uses a draft — changes are held until you click Save. If the save fails, the form shows why. Common reasons: the email is already registered to another account, the phone number is not a valid Bangladesh number, or the name is too short.

How to fix it:

  1. Check the error message under the field. It names what's wrong.
  2. For email already registered: that email address is linked to another Omnikyo account. Use a different email.
  3. For phone number: enter a Bangladesh mobile number like 01712345678. Include the leading zero.
  4. For name: use at least 2 characters.
  5. Fix the field and try to save again.
  6. If the form becomes unresponsive, close the tab and open Settings again.

Still stuck? If the save keeps failing after you've corrected the field, wait a moment and try again. If it still fails, contact support with the exact error message.

Email confirmation didn't arrive

What you see: You changed your email address, the form said "Confirm your new email" and a link was sent, but you didn't receive the email in your inbox or spam folder.

Why it happens: The confirmation link is sent immediately, but it takes a moment to arrive. It may end up in spam, or your inbox provider may have blocked it.

How to fix it:

  1. Wait 2 minutes and check your spam folder (Gmail's Promotions or Social tab, Outlook's Junk, etc.). If it's there, mark it as "Not spam".
  2. Check that you entered the email address correctly. If you made a typo, the link went to the wrong mailbox.
  3. If the link doesn't arrive after 5 minutes, open Settings again, go to Profile and security, and try changing the email address again. The system will send a new link.
  4. Click the link in the email within 24 hours. It expires after that.
  5. If you lose the link, change the email address again to get a fresh one.

Still stuck? If you still don't receive the email after several attempts, contact support with your account email and the email address you're trying to change to.

Passkey unavailable or can't add this device

What you see: You go to Settings › Profile and security › Sign-in methods › Passkeys, but the "Add this device" button is greyed out, or you see the message "This browser can't use passkeys" or "Passkeys are switched off for Omnikyo right now."

Why it happens: Passkeys (sign in with your fingerprint, face or PIN) need a recent browser and a secure connection. Some browsers and older devices don't support them. Passkeys may also be temporarily switched off.

How to fix it:

  1. If the message says the browser can't use passkeys: switch to a recent version of Chrome, Safari or Edge (version 108 or newer). Firefox does not support passkeys yet.
  2. Check that you are signed in on a device with a fingerprint sensor or face camera. Desktop browsers need the device's biometric hardware.
  3. Make sure the connection is secure: the page URL starts with https://, not http://.
  4. Close the Settings tab and open it again. Sometimes the browser needs a moment to detect passkey support.
  5. If the message says "Passkeys are switched off right now": they are temporarily unavailable. Try again later, or use your password or Google sign-in instead.
  6. If you use a work or school account, your IT admin may have disabled passkeys for security. Contact them.

Still stuck? If you need to sign in without a passkey, use your password or Google account instead. Passkeys are optional.

Two-step code rejected or won't work

What you see: You entered a code from your authenticator app, but the sign-in fails with "Code is invalid" or "Code expired".

Why it happens: Codes expire after 30 seconds, or you may have entered a code from the wrong authenticator. If you set up two-step with multiple apps or devices, each one generates different codes.

How to fix it:

  1. Check that you are reading the code from the right authenticator app — the same one you used when you set up two-step verification in Settings › Profile and security › Two-step verification.
  2. If the code is close to expiring (the app shows a countdown), wait for a new code to appear and enter that instead.
  3. Make sure the time on your phone and computer match. If the time is wrong, codes will be invalid. Check Settings › Date and time on your phone.
  4. Close the sign-in tab and start again. Open a fresh sign-in page and try the next code.
  5. If you are using Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or Authy, check that it is syncing with the cloud. Open the app, go to Settings and turn on cloud sync if it is off.

If you lose access: If you cannot get a code from your authenticator (you lost the phone, broke it, or uninstalled the app), you can still sign in with your password. After you sign in, go to Settings › Profile and security › Two-step verification, remove the lost authenticator, and add a new device.

Still stuck? If codes keep failing, remove the authenticator in Settings and add it again. Scan the QR code with your app a second time to set up a fresh copy.

Locked out by the business 2FA rule

What you see: You try to sign in, the password works, but then the sign-in stops and says something like "Two-step verification is required by your business" or you cannot proceed without a code.

Why it happens: The business owner has set a rule that everyone on the team must use two-step verification. You haven't set it up yet, so you cannot sign in.

How to fix it:

  1. Contact the business owner or manager and ask them to remove the rule temporarily, or ask them to set up a backup authenticator for you.
  2. If the owner is not available, ask another manager in the business to remove the rule in Settings › Security › Require two-step verification.
  3. Once the rule is removed or softened, you can sign in with your password and set up two-step yourself in Settings › Profile and security › Two-step verification › Authenticator app.
  4. After you've added an authenticator, ask the owner to put the rule back on.

Still stuck? If no one in the business can help, contact support with your account email and the business name. They can give you temporary access to set up two-step.

Unsaved changes blocking navigation

What you see: You edit your name or email in Settings › Profile and security, but don't click Save yet. When you try to navigate away (click another Settings page, go to the Dashboard, or close the tab), a message appears saying "You have unsaved changes" and stops you.

Why it happens: Settings keeps track of unsaved edits. If you have made changes to your profile, name or email, the system warns you before leaving, so you don't lose the edits accidentally.

How to fix it:

  1. Click Save to save the changes, then navigate away.
  2. Or click Discard to throw away the changes and navigate away without saving.
  3. If the message doesn't go away after clicking an option, close the tab and open Settings again.

The unsaved-changes warning is normal and is not a problem. The warning protects you from losing edits.

"You don't have access" or "Permission denied"

What you see: You try to open a Settings page (like Shipping and delivery or Users and roles) and see a message like "You don't have access" or the page shows no content.

Why it happens: Settings pages are locked by permission. For example, only the business owner or a manager can change Users and roles, and only someone with the Shipping permission can edit delivery fees. If you don't have the permission, the page is not available to you.

How to fix it:

  1. Check the page name. If it is a business or team setting, contact the owner or manager.
  2. Ask the owner or manager to give you the permission you need. They can do this in Settings › Users and roles › find your name › Edit access.
  3. After the owner grants the permission, close your browser and sign in again. The new permission takes effect immediately, but the page may need to reload.
  4. If the permission appears to be granted but the page still says you don't have access, close the Settings tab and open it again. Sometimes the browser caches the old permission list.

Sidebar showing nothing: If the Settings sidebar shows nothing (no pages listed), you probably don't have any Settings permission at all. Ask the owner to give you at least the Profile and security permission, which everyone can have.

Still stuck? Go to Settings › Users and roles, find your name, and look at what permissions it lists. If a permission you need is missing, ask the owner to add it.
