Troubleshooting

Store problems

You can fix most storefront issues by publishing a theme, checking visibility settings, and verifying product status.

Where to find it: Sidebar › Website › Online store (if a problem exists, error messages appear on that page or in the designer)

Your storefront has no site yet

What you see: On the Themes page, a card says "This business has no storefront yet" with a Create storefront button.

Why it happens: Before you can publish a theme or add pages, Omnikyo needs to set up a storefront site — a container that holds your theme, pages and settings. A new business starts without one.

How to fix it:

  1. Go to Sidebar › Website › Online store (the Themes page).
  2. Click Create storefront.
  3. Wait for the button text to change to Reload (usually a few seconds), then reload the page.

The storefront is now created. Proceed to publish a theme so shoppers can see your store.

Good to know: Creating a storefront is free and automatic. It happens once. After that, the site stays even if you delete all themes — you can always add new ones.

Your theme is not published

What you see: On the Themes page, a Not published badge appears on all themes, or a Not published pill in the Visibility & design section of Store settings. Shoppers who try to visit your store see a message like "Opening soon" (on a custom domain) or "Store not found" (on the free address).

Why it happens: A storefront needs a live theme for shoppers to see anything. Drafts are invisible to everyone outside your team. Even if you turn visibility on in Store settings, your store shows as closed until a theme is published.

How to fix it:

  1. Go to Sidebar › Website › Online store.
  2. Click Customise on any draft theme (or create a new one with Add theme).
  3. In the designer, make a change (for example, edit the text in one block) and click Save.
  4. Click Publish at the top right. A dialog appears: "Publish {theme name}?" — click Publish again.
  5. Wait for the toast "Published" + version number, then reload the Themes page.

Your store is now live. Shoppers can browse it at your free address (e.g., mystore.omnikyo.com) or your custom domain if connected.

Careful: If you publish while the Store visible to customers toggle is off in Store settings, the theme goes live but shoppers see "Hidden". Turn visibility on so they can shop.

Your theme has errors and won't publish

What you see: You click Publish in the designer, and a dialog appears: "This theme has not compiled cleanly, so it cannot go live. Open the designer and fix the errors it reports."

Why it happens: The designer found a problem in your theme — often a missing image, an invalid setting, or a block that depends on something that no longer exists. The designer shows the errors near the bottom.

How to fix it:

  1. Look at the designer window. Near the bottom or in the Inspector (right panel), error messages describe what is wrong (for example, "Missing image on Hero block").
  2. Fix each error — add the missing image, correct the setting, or remove the broken block.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Try Publish again.

If you cannot see the errors, reload the designer and look for a red error card or icon.

A landing page order says "This offer is no longer available"

What you see: A shopper tries to place an order on one of your landing pages and sees the message "This offer is no longer available."

Why it happens: An offer on a landing page depends on a product. If that product is deleted, archived, or its price is removed, the offer breaks. Omnikyo protects the merchant and shopper by refusing the order rather than guessing a price.

How to fix it:

  1. Go to Sidebar › Products and search for the product the landing page sells.
  2. Check that the product Status is Active (not Archived or Draft).
  3. Check that the product has a Price set (not empty).
  4. Go back to the landing page builder (Sidebar › Website › Landing pages › click the page) and check the Offers tab.
  5. Confirm that the product listed in each offer tier is the correct one and still active.
  6. If you deleted or renamed the product, update the offer to use a different product, or delete the offer.
  7. Click Publish to make the fix live for shoppers.

Until the offer is fixed, shoppers cannot place orders.

Your store is hidden from customers

What you see: On the Omnikyo dashboard, the store header card shows Hidden status. When shoppers try to visit, they see "This store is closed" or similar.

Why it happens: The Store visible to customers toggle in Sidebar › Settings › Online store is turned off. This is useful while you are setting up, but once you are ready, you need to turn it back on.

How to fix it:

  1. Go to Sidebar › Settings › Online store.
  2. Find the Store visible to customers section.
  3. Turn on the toggle.
  4. A toast appears: "Your store is open — anyone with the address can shop."

Your store is now visible. Shoppers can browse and place orders.

A custom domain shows "Opening soon" or "Store not found"

What you see: A shopper visits your custom domain (e.g., shop.mybrand.com) and sees "Opening soon — this store isn't open yet" or "Store not found."

Why it happens: Either the domain is still being verified (status Pending or Verifying), you have not published a theme yet (Not published status), or the store visibility is off (Hidden).

How to fix it:

If the domain shows Pending or Verifying:

  1. Go to Sidebar › Settings › Domains.
  2. Find your custom domain and check its status.
  3. If Pending, you have not finished the DNS setup. Return to step 1 (Domain) or step 2 (Add these records) and complete all the DNS records at your provider.
  4. If Verifying, wait 5–30 minutes. The page auto-checks. If it takes longer, click Check now.

If the domain is Active but still shows an error:

  1. Go to Sidebar › Website › Online store and publish a theme (see "Your theme is not published" above).
  2. Go to Sidebar › Settings › Online store and turn on Store visible to customers.
  3. Wait a moment and reload the custom domain in your browser.

If the issue persists, the domain may be cached. Reload the page after 5 minutes.

A free address (.omnikyo.com) stops working after you rename it

What you see: You changed your free address from oldshop.omnikyo.com to newshop.omnikyo.com. Shoppers using the old link see "Store not found."

Why it happens: When you rename your store, Omnikyo frees the old address so someone else can claim it. The old links stop working immediately. This is by design — it prevents link squatting.

How to fix it:

  1. Update any links you have shared (in ads, social posts, email, etc.) to use the new address.
  2. Update the link on your website or anywhere else it is published.
  3. If the old address is claimed by another business, you cannot reclaim it — choose a different name instead.

Good to know: Custom domains are more stable. If you own a domain, point it to your store and use that link in ads and marketing — renaming your free address won't break it.
