Create a Meta campaign
You build a campaign by choosing a goal, naming it, setting a budget, and adding ads with copy.
Where to find it: Sidebar › Meta Ads › Create campaign (upper right)
Who can do it: Anyone with the page.meta and meta.budget permissions.
Step 1: Choose your goal and structure
The first screen asks two things: What do you want to achieve? and Structure.
Choose one goal:
- Sales — "Drive purchases, optimised with your Meta Pixel." (marked Recommended)
- Traffic — "Send shoppers to your store or a product link."
- Engagement — "Spark messages, likes, comments and shares."
Choose one structure. Each changes how many ad sets you have and how budgets work:
- Advantage+ — "One broad ad set, all your creatives — Meta's AI finds the buyers." (Recommended). One ad set. One budget for the whole campaign.
- Test & Learn — "Up to 3 ad sets with separate budgets to compare creative groups." 1–3 ad sets. Each ad set has its own daily budget.
- Custom — "Full control over ad sets and how the budget is split." 1–5 ad sets. For Custom only, you can also choose Shared budget (one budget, Meta divides it) or Per ad set (each ad set gets its own budget).
For Test & Learn and Custom, use Fewer ad sets or More ad sets buttons to adjust the count, then type a name for each ad set if you want (Test A, Test B, Test C are defaults for Test & Learn).
Once both are chosen, tap or click Continue to go to step 2. If validation fails, you'll see "Choose a goal to continue." or "Choose a structure to continue."
Step 2: Set the essentials
The second screen gathers three things: who posts the ads, what you'll call the campaign, and how much to spend daily.
Post as — Choose the Facebook Page your ads appear to come from. A dropdown lists every Facebook Page your saved Meta login can use (up to 25 Pages). If you have exactly one Page, it is selected automatically. If none are found, you'll see "No Facebook Pages found for this token. Generate a new token with pages_manage_ads and save it in Settings." Validation: "Select the Facebook Page your ads will be posted from."
Campaign name — "Only you see this — pick something you'll recognise in reports." The field starts with a suggestion like "Sales — Oct 2" (the goal and today's date). Type anything you want; it becomes only your internal label. Validation: "Give the campaign a name."
Daily budget — Enter your budget in taka (৳). Quick buttons offer ৳500, ৳1,000, ৳2,500, ৳5,000. Minimum is ৳500 per daily budget line. For Advantage+ or Custom with Shared budget, that's one budget. For Test & Learn or Custom with Per ad set, each ad set gets its own budget (also at least ৳500). Below the field the wizard estimates "≈ ৳{total × 30}/month · converted to your ad account's currency at your saved rate." Validation: "Daily budget must be at least ৳500." or "Each ad set needs a daily budget of at least ৳500."
Catalog collection (optional) — If you have a Meta product catalog and want the ads to showcase products from it, tap Link a catalog collection. The wizard opens a picker showing your catalogs and product sets. When you pick one, the goal is forced to Sales and the ads become collection ads (products appear below each creative). If you don't link a collection, skip this.
When the Post as, campaign name, and budget are filled, the Continue button is ready to tap. If you change the structure on step 1 (by going back), this form clears so you can set new budgets.
Step 3: Add ads and write the ad copy
The third screen is the ad studio. It has three parts: a rail on the left (or a strip on phone) listing your ads, a live preview in the middle showing what shoppers see, and a copy panel on the right where you write text and links.
Add ads — Press Add and choose From media library (photos and videos from your media library) or From your products (product images from your catalog). The media picker lets you upload, paste, or choose existing files. Accepted file types: JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, SVG, AVIF images up to 20 MB; MP4, QuickTime, WebM videos up to 500 MB. Each file becomes one ad. A product picker shows active products with photos and lets you add them as ads — each product gets its own ad with that product's image, link and button pre-filled. A Product ad tag marks ads made from products. If you add the same file or product twice, the second is skipped.
The meter under the rail tracks creatives toward the "sweet spot": "More creatives = better results" until 8, then "Great creative variety". {count}/8+ shows your progress.
Write the ad copy — Click an ad on the left to select it. On the right, a Same text for all ads toggle lets you write once and reuse text across every ad, or write different text for each ad.
- Primary text — 4 lines. Placeholder: "Tell shoppers why they'll love it…". Required. No character limit in the wizard.
- Write with AI — If the ad is linked to a product, this button generates primary text and a headline from the product. It reads the product's name and description, knows the goal (Sales/Traffic/Engagement) and button wording, and writes 1–3 short sentences (ideally under 125 characters, max one emoji) and a headline under 40 characters. It asks for a language only if configured. If the ad has no linked product, the button reads Link a product to write with AI and opens the product picker instead. Errors: "AI copy generation is not configured for this environment." / "The AI writer had trouble ({status}). Please try again in a moment." / "Could not read the AI copy. Try again." / "AI copy generation failed. Try again in a moment."
- Headline (optional) — Placeholder: "Short punchy line".
- Button — Choose Shop Now, Learn More, Message Page, or Order Now (default Shop Now).
- Show in (Test & Learn and Custom only) — Choose All ad sets or pick a specific ad set. Every ad set must end up with at least one ad assigned to it. Validation: "Assign at least one ad to your ad set." or "{ad set name} has no ads assigned."
- Linked product — If not added from products, tap Link a product from your catalog to pick one. Once linked, you see the product's name, can Change it, or unlink it (✕ button appears only for ads linked by hand, not for ads created from a product). Linking tells the AI writer what product the ad is for and auto-fills the destination link.
- Destination link (required) — Placeholder: "https://your-store.com/product". When a product is linked, the field says "Auto-filled from the linked product."
For collection ads, a note appears: "Collection ad · {collection}. Each creative is the hero; products from this collection show below it."
Validation for step 3: "Add at least one ad." / "Add primary text for your ads." / "Add a destination link for your ads." / "Every ad needs primary text and a destination link."
Confirm and launch
Once all three steps are valid, a Launch campaign button appears on the bottom bar. Clicking it opens a confirm dialog titled "Ready to launch?" showing your choices: Posting as (the Facebook Page name and photo), Objective (goal and structure, like "Sales · Advantage+"), Structure (count of ad sets and ads, like "1 ad set · 6 ads"), Daily budget (total daily and "≈ {total × 30}/month"). An amber note warns: "Your campaign goes live immediately and starts spending. You can pause it anytime from Manage." (The pause part is not fully true; pausing is available only through OmniAI.) Choose Not yet to go back, or Launch now to proceed.
What happens when you launch
The wizard shows three steps Uploading creatives, Building campaign, Launching ads. Each takes about a second for display; the real work is in the last step.
If it succeeds, you'll see "You're live" — "{campaign name} is now running with {n} ad(s). Results start appearing in Manage within a few hours." Tap Back to campaigns to close the wizard and reload the live Manage table. The campaign starts spending immediately and appears in the Manage tab.
If it fails, you'll see "We hit a snag while {phrase}" (like "uploading your creatives" or "launching the ads") with the error. It also says "Partially created — we removed it, so nothing is running." or "Nothing was created on Meta." If you're missing a Meta account, Facebook Page, or Meta Pixel, a box offers Open settings to fix it. Tap Back to review to return to the form with everything you entered still there, fix the issue (in Settings if needed), and try again.
What the campaign wizard decides for you
The campaign wizard sets several things automatically without showing them in the form:
- Targeting: Bangladesh only. Advantage+ audience (Meta picks who sees it). No custom audiences, age, gender or interest targeting.
- Placements: Advantage+ placements (Meta decides where your ads appear).
- Schedule: Starts immediately. Runs until you pause it. No end date or lifetime budget.
- Budget type: Daily budgets only. No lifetime budget.
- Bid: Lowest cost (no bid cap). Special ad categories: none.
Questions people ask
Can I pause the campaign from the wizard?
No. Once it launches, pause it in the Manage tab or ask OmniAI to pause it for you.
Can I edit the audience or placements?
No. The wizard builds campaigns with Bangladesh-only targeting and Advantage+ placements. Meta's AI chooses who sees your ads and where they appear.
Do I pick an end date?
No. The campaign runs until you pause it. There is no lifetime budget or end date option.
What if I want different budgets for each ad set?
Choose Test & Learn (separate budgets for 1–3 ad sets) or Custom with Per ad set (separate budgets for 1–5 ad sets). Advantage+ has one budget for the whole campaign.
