Storefront questions
Shoppers do not need to create an account, all reviews require your approval before appearing, and each domain can serve only one store.
Do your shoppers need to create an account?
No. Your storefront has no customer accounts, login or registration. Every shopper is identified only by their phone number (on the confirmation page and in your orders list). When a customer places an order, they enter their phone and email, and Omnikyo sends them a confirmation link by SMS or email with a unique token. The same customer ordering again uses the same phone — no account login needed.
How do product reviews work?
When a shopper submits a review, it is marked as pending and is invisible to other shoppers until you approve it. You approve reviews in the dashboard (Store › Reviews) by clicking Approve. Approved reviews appear immediately on the product page. You can also delete a review if it is spam or inappropriate.
A shopper can submit up to 3 reviews per hour from the same IP address. If someone tries to submit more, they see a rate-limit message.
Can you control review moderation per product?
No. All reviews on your storefront use the same moderation rule: all reviews are pending until you approve them. You cannot have some products auto-approve reviews while others require approval.
Why does my store stay hidden?
If you mark your store as Hidden in Settings › Store › Status, it will not serve to the public. Custom domains will show "Opening soon", and the storefront will return HTTP 404 for unknown links. Your store will still be accessible via the app's dashboard (to test and edit), but shoppers cannot see the live pages.
When a store is hidden, robots.txt tells crawlers not to index any page, and the sitemap returns 404.
How do you use the same domain for two stores?
You cannot. Each custom domain can be connected to exactly one store. If you need to move the domain to a different store, disconnect it from the old store first (in Settings › Domains › Remove), then connect it to the new one.
You can, however, use a subdomain (shopname.omnikyo.com) for each of your stores simultaneously.
Can you reuse a subdomain you released?
Yes. If you rename your store (which changes the subdomain slug), the old subdomain becomes available again. Someone else can claim that slug for a new store. If you own another account, you can claim the old slug for one of your other businesses.
This means an old link to a released subdomain might eventually point to a completely different store. To avoid confusion, update any marketing links when you change your store's subdomain.
What does it mean when a custom domain is pending?
When you first add a custom domain, Omnikyo creates the connection record. Before shoppers can visit the domain, you must point your domain's DNS to Omnikyo's servers (the specific DNS record is shown when you add the domain). Once DNS is pointed correctly, the status changes to Active within a few minutes.
While the domain is pending (DNS not yet pointed), shoppers who visit it see "Opening soon" (503 status).
Why is my change not live yet on the storefront?
Changes usually appear within 10 seconds. Product edits, theme publishes, and discount updates all refresh the storefront cache automatically. In rare cases, Cloudflare's edge cache can hold the old version for up to 1 hour.
If you have changed a setting and it is not live: (1) Make sure you clicked Save (or Publish for themes). (2) Reload the storefront page with Ctrl+Shift+R to skip your browser's cache. (3) Wait a few seconds and reload again normally. (4) If the change is still not live after 2 minutes, contact support.
Does the storefront work if Omnikyo is offline?
No. The storefront requires an active connection to Omnikyo's servers. If the platform is down, the storefront returns a "Be right back" error. Your orders, inventory and all other data are safe, but shoppers cannot browse or place orders until the platform is back online.
How does the storefront know which location has stock?
The storefront shows combined stock across all your locations by default. When a shopper checks out, Omnikyo picks the location with the most stock for fulfillment. If a location is marked as "Do not use for online orders" in its settings, the storefront and checkout never use stock from that location.
You cannot show different stock per location on the storefront or let shoppers choose a pickup location (unless the feature is enabled for your account).
Can you change storefront text like "Cash on Delivery" or "Place order"?
Some. The theme settings let you customize checkout labels (like the button text), delivery zone labels (the Inside/Outside Dhaka strings), the reassurance line, and the order note label. Most other text — validation messages, error messages, button states — is fixed in the code.
Why is the storefront slow?
The storefront is cached aggressively for speed. If it is slow, check: (1) Does your store have many products (over 2,000)? Very large catalogues take longer to render. (2) Is a team member editing the store while shoppers are browsing? Edits trigger revalidations that can briefly slow things down. (3) Check Omnikyo's status page (status.omnikyo.com) to see if the platform is experiencing load.
If slowness persists, contact support with the store's slug.
