Where to find it: Sidebar › Settings › Selling › Payments › bKash Who can do it: Anyone with Integrations access (owners always pass).
Before you start
You need a bKash merchant account. If you don't have one, set up an account with bKash or ask your account manager. You will then get API credentials from the bKash developer portal.
Get your credentials from bKash
- Log in to the bKash developer portal at https://developer.bka.sh. If you don't have a developer account yet, create one or contact your bKash account manager.
- Look for Tokenized Checkout credentials. You need four pieces of information:
- App key
- App secret
- Username (often called Merchant API username)
- Password (often called Merchant API password)
- You will get separate credentials for Sandbox (for testing) and Live (for real payments). Get both; you will test with Sandbox first.
Enter your credentials in Omnikyo
- Go to Settings › Selling › Payments.
- Open the bKash tile.
- Under Mode, choose Sandbox (test payments) first.
- Paste your Sandbox credentials into the four fields:
- App key
- App secret
- Username
- Password
- Leave the "Show bKash at checkout" switch off for now.
- Click Save.
The page should update, and the status should change from "Set up" to "Not tested yet".
Save vs. replace credentials
If a credential field is already saved, the input shows a placeholder instead of the saved value. To keep a saved credential, leave the field blank. To replace a saved credential, type the new value and save.
You can see which credentials are saved by the descriptions under each field. If it says "Saved", the credential is stored. If it says nothing, the field is empty.
Good to know: bKash credentials are encrypted and stored securely. You see only masked values on the page; your real credentials are never shown after you save them.
Switch between Sandbox and Live
Start with Sandbox to test payments. When you are confident it works, you can switch to Live.
- Get your Live credentials from the bKash developer portal.
- On the bKash page in Omnikyo, change Mode to Live.
- Paste your Live credentials into the four fields.
- Click Save.
You only need to do this once per set of credentials. After saving, you can toggle between Sandbox and Live by changing the Mode dropdown.
Careful: Using Live credentials means real payments will be processed. Only switch to Live when you are ready to accept real customer payments.
What each field is
- App key — A unique identifier for your bKash merchant account on the tokenized checkout service. bKash provides this in your developer account.
- App secret — A secret key that signs requests to bKash. Keep this private. If bKash says the secret is compromised, ask for a new one.
- Username — Your bKash merchant API username, given to you by bKash. This is usually different from your login username for the developer portal.
- Password — Your bKash merchant API password. Like the secret, keep this private.
If you forget any of these, log back into the bKash developer portal or contact your bKash account manager.
Questions people ask
Can I test without saving to Live first?
Yes. Sandbox is separate from Live. You can save Sandbox credentials and test as many times as you want without affecting Live. When you are ready, switch to Live credentials.
What if I enter the wrong credentials?
Omnikyo will show the wrong values, and the test will fail. The page will show the error message from bKash. Check the bKash developer portal for the correct values and try again.
Do I need to test after saving?
No, but it is a good idea. Testing verifies that bKash accepts your credentials. If the test fails, the error message helps you fix the problem.
Why is the "Show bKash at checkout" switch disabled?
The switch is disabled until you have saved at least one set of credentials. Once you save, you can turn the switch on to show bKash to customers (after testing first).
What if my credentials expire?
Contact your bKash account manager for new credentials. They should send you a new set, which you then enter and save on the bKash page. You don't need to do anything else — you can keep using bKash.
