Dashboard questions
Answers to common questions about Dashboard figures, what counts, what does not, and how often the Dashboard updates.
Why is Sales higher than I expected? Does it include delivery fees?
Yes. Sales is the total amount the customer paid, including the delivery fee. If a customer ordered for ৳1,000 and paid ৳150 delivery, Sales shows ৳1,150.
The delivery fee is counted in Sales but it is not profit: it goes to the courier (or your own delivery cost). Gross profit subtracts the delivery fee, so it shows only the revenue from the product itself.
Are cancelled orders counted?
No. The Sales, Orders, Avg order, Delivered, Delivery fees, Product cost and profit figures all exclude Cancelled orders. Only orders with other statuses (New, Confirmed, Preparing, Hold, Dispatched, Delivered, Return Pending, Returned) are counted.
Are returned orders counted in Sales?
Yes, so long as they are not Cancelled. A Returned order is counted in Sales at its original amount. The dashboard does not deduct the return value later.
If you process a partial return (returning some items), the order total stays the same. The dashboard counts the original sale.
Why is there no change arrow next to "Today"?
The Sales, Orders and Avg order figures show change arrows only when the dashboard can compare with a complete previous period. If the date range includes today and the local time is before 23:00, today is still in progress, so the previous period is incomplete. The arrow is hidden.
Once it is 23:00 or later (your local time), or once you select a date range that ends on a past day, the arrows appear.
What is ROAS?
ROAS stands for Return on Ad Spend. It shows how much sales you got back for every ৳1 you spent on ads.
The formula is ROAS = Sales ÷ Ad spend. For example, if you spent ৳10,000 on ads and got ৳60,000 in sales, ROAS is 6x (meaning ৳6 back for every ৳1 spent).
A higher ROAS is better. Most sellers aim for ROAS above 3x (at least ৳3 in sales per ৳1 spent on ads).
If ROAS shows n/a, Meta is unavailable or your ad spend is zero.
Do expenses count in Net profit on the Dashboard?
No. Net profit = Gross profit − Ad spend. It does not subtract Expenses (rent, salaries, etc.). For the full profit picture including expenses, open Reports › Financials (the P&L report).
Does the date range affect the Needs attention, Courier health or Cash in flight cards?
No. These three cards ignore the date range picker:
- Needs attention: live, always showing the current state of orders that need action.
- Courier health: shows the last 30 days of dispatcher data, always. Changing the dashboard range does not change this window.
- Cash in flight: live, showing cash right now, with some windows fixed at 5 or 30 days.
Only the Sales, Ads, Profit, Sales and ad spend chart, Orders by status and Top products cards use the date range.
How often does the dashboard update?
The dashboard loads fresh when you open it. It does not auto-refresh while you are looking at it.
When you create a new order from the New Order button in the header, the database figures refresh automatically. If you edit orders elsewhere (change a status in the Orders list), the dashboard updates the next time you open it or after 60 seconds.
Tap Refresh (the circular arrow button) to fetch the latest data at any time. Meta figures (ad spend, campaigns) are fetched every time you refresh.
Is there a delay before the dashboard updates after an order is placed?
A few seconds at most. When a customer places an order (on the storefront or from the New Order modal), the dashboard's database figures refresh on the next load or refresh. If you tap Refresh straight away, you see the new order.
Meta ad spend may take longer (up to a few hours) to appear on the dashboard because Meta reports it on a delay.
Why does the dashboard still show old data even though I just refreshed it?
The last load of data stays on screen while new data is being fetched. You see a thin progress bar across the top of the dashboard while it is loading. Once the new data arrives, the figures swap in place.
If a refresh fails, the last loaded figures stay and a red notice appears above the cards. Tap Retry to try again.
Can I see the dashboard on my phone?
Yes. Open the Dashboard from the sidebar (or the drawer menu on a phone) and you see a single-column layout. The date picker becomes a bottom sheet. You can still tap cards to drill down to Orders or Reports.
The dashboard does not work offline. If you are offline, you see a message asking you to check your connection.
