Cash in flight
The Cash in flight card tracks cash on delivery (COD) that is not yet in your hands: money on parcels still with the courier, cash the courier collected but has not paid you, and returns on their way back.

What "outstanding" means
The big Outstanding figure at the top is the total cash you are waiting for, broken into three streams:
- With courier now: cash on parcels still being delivered (dispatched in the last 5 days).
- Awaiting {Courier} payout (when shown): cash the courier collected on delivered parcels but has not sent back to you yet.
- Coming back as returns: money tied up in parcels the customer is returning.
The card shows how much each stream makes up with a coloured bar: blue-green for in-transit, amber for awaiting payout, and red for returns.
With courier now
The With courier now row counts Dispatched orders from the last 5 days whose cash is still collectible (order total minus any advance payment made). Orders older than 5 days dispatched are not counted here, even if they are still on the road, because at that point they become unreconciled records rather than cash in motion.
The meta line shows how many parcels, for example: {n} parcels, last 5d.
Awaiting {Courier} payout
The Awaiting {Courier} payout row appears only when at least one courier has reported a "paid" status on a delivered order (so the system recognizes when cash is actually remitted) and there is cash waiting with that courier.
The row shows the names of couriers where cash is pending, joined with " / " (e.g., "Awaiting Pathao / Steadfast payout"). The meta line shows how many delivered orders have unpaid cash with them.
If a courier never reports when cash has been paid (does not mark orders with a "paid" status), that courier is not tracked here and appears in a note at the bottom instead (see "Couriers that do not report payouts" below).
Coming back as returns
The Coming back as returns row counts Return Pending orders (parcels on the way back) and their full order total. Once a parcel arrives back and is marked as Returned, it stops counting here because you have received it and the cash is resolved.
There is no time limit on this row — returns from any date count, so if a parcel is stuck in return for weeks, its cash stays in this figure.
The meta line shows how many are pending: {n} pending.
Collected, last 30 days
The footer line shows Collected, last 30 days in green: the total cash actually collected on orders delivered in the 30-day window. This is the cash that reached you, counting it as recorded in your system (either the amount you logged, or the calculated collectible amount if you did not log an exact figure).
This figure helps you see how much cash was actually handed over in the period, separate from what is still waiting.
Couriers that do not report payouts
If a courier is used in your orders but has never marked a parcel as "paid", that courier cannot be tracked in the Awaiting payout row. Instead, a note appears at the bottom:
{Courier names} does not report payouts, so that cash is not tracked here.
This means their delivered orders' cash is not counted in Outstanding. Some couriers (like those you hand cash directly to, or those that do not have an automated payment system) may never report a "paid" status, which is why they are excluded — showing them would be inaccurate.
How to use this card
To keep track of timing:
- Watch the With courier now row to see how much cash is en route. If it grows, you have parcels piling up in dispatch; if it shrinks, deliveries are happening.
- Check the Awaiting {Courier} payout row to know how much cash the courier owes you. Follow up with them if this figure grows unexpectedly.
To plan cash flow:
- The Outstanding total tells you the maximum gap between when you deliver a product and when you receive the cash. Use it to forecast cash on hand.
- The footer shows how much was collected in the last 30 days, helping you see if couriers are prompt.
To find problems:
- If With courier now stays high for weeks, check if parcels are getting stuck (see Needs attention for orders with no courier update in 24 hours).
- If Awaiting payout grows and does not shrink, follow up with the courier on when they will send it.
- If Coming back as returns is large, process those returns so the cash gets resolved.
Empty state
A new or test store with no orders shows Outstanding as ৳0 with all rows empty. A store with only advance-pay orders (no cash on delivery) also shows ৳0.
Limitations
- The card counts only COD and advance-pay orders. Orders paid by bKash or card are not included (the cash is already in your account).
- Orders without a delivered history (very old orders that predate status tracking) cannot be counted in "Collected, last 30 days".
- Courier cash is only as good as the data your courier integration provides. If a courier does not report status properly, the figures may not match reality.
