Shipping and couriers

Omnikyo charges your customers for delivery at checkout, books parcels with one of two couriers, and shows you every update as the parcel moves.

What Omnikyo does for delivery

When a customer buys from your store or a landing page, they pay a delivery fee at checkout. The fee depends on where they live: inside or outside Dhaka. You set both fees in Settings. If the customer does not pay in advance (for example, bKash at checkout), the courier collects the amount due when the parcel is delivered (cash on delivery, or COD).

Once you book the parcel with a courier, the courier scans it at each stage — pick, hub, delivery — and sends those updates to Omnikyo. You see the status in your Orders list and on the dashboard. The customer can follow the delivery on a public tracking page.

The two supported couriers

Omnikyo works with exactly two couriers: Pathao and Steadfast. No other courier is supported. RedX, Paperfly, eCourier and others do not integrate with Omnikyo, so you cannot book them here or track them automatically.

Pathao: You book parcels by choosing a pickup store (where Pathao collects from you). Pathao has pickup stores in Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet and other cities. You can book a standard parcel or an express delivery.

Steadfast: You book parcels one at a time or in bulk, and Steadfast delivers across Bangladesh. Steadfast does not use pickup stores; the courier visits you.

Both couriers show delivery updates in your Orders, on the dashboard Needs attention panel (for stuck parcels), and in the customer's tracking page.

Where each thing lives

Delivery fees: Settings › Shipping and delivery › Delivery fees. Set what customers pay inside and outside Dhaka.

Courier credentials: Settings › Shipping and delivery › Couriers. Connect Pathao (Client ID, Client secret, login email and password, and pickup stores) or Steadfast (API key and secret key).

Book a parcel: Orders list. Row menu on each order: Send to Pathao, Send Express to Pathao, or Send to Steadfast. Bulk: select orders and use the Ship menu.

Track a parcel: Order details window, Courier tab. Shows the courier status, the journey bar, and every scan from the courier. A Sync status button pulls the latest update from the courier.

Scheduling: Order details window, Ship on row. Pick a date to delay dispatch. The order moves to Hold and ships automatically on that date.

Quiet parcels: Orders list, Filters button › Quiet parcels only toggle. Shows orders the courier has not updated in 24+ hours.

Dashboard: Needs attention row counts parcels that need shipping or are stuck. Courier health panel shows delivery rate and return risk by courier over the last 30 days. Cash in flight shows COD money on the road with the courier.

Reports: Fulfilment & Courier report. Delivery rate, time to deliver, return risk by city and by courier.

What happens from order to delivery

  1. Customer places an order and pays (or chooses to pay on delivery).
  2. You book the parcel with Pathao or Steadfast from the Orders list. The order becomes Dispatched. Pathao assigns a consignment ID at booking; Steadfast's ID arrives when they first scan the parcel.
  3. The courier picks up the parcel from your location or store.
  4. The parcel goes to a hub, then into a vehicle for delivery.
  5. The courier is out for delivery (rider assigned).
  6. The parcel is delivered to the customer (or returned if the address is wrong or the customer refuses).
  7. If the parcel is collected as COD, the courier sends the cash to you on their schedule (Steadfast and Pathao have different payout timelines). If the customer prepaid, nothing is due.

Each step sends a status update. You see it in Orders, the dashboard and the customer's tracking page.

Which orders can be shipped

Orders must have:

  • A customer with a phone number and address
  • A status of Preparing or Confirmed (you cannot book from New or Hold directly; move them first)

Pathao also needs at least one saved pickup store. Steadfast needs both API key and secret key saved.

A parcel's statuses

  • Dispatched: you have booked it with the courier, or the courier has received it from you.
  • Awaiting courier (shown under Dispatched): you have booked a Pathao bulk shipment but the courier's ID has not yet arrived. Once Pathao scans it, the ID appears.
  • In transit (courier status text): the parcel is moving through the courier's network.
  • Delivered: the courier handed it to the customer, or to the customer's chosen location. The order becomes Delivered. COD money is now with the courier.
  • Return Pending: the delivery failed, the address was wrong, or the customer refused. You can mark it Returned to restock the items.

Permissions

Anyone can view courier settings and orders. Booking a parcel needs the orders.create permission (usually owners and managers). Setting delivery fees needs the page.settings.storefront permission or higher. Connecting couriers needs the page.settings.integrations permission.
