Add Omnikyo to your home screen

You can add an Omnikyo icon to your phone's home screen so it opens full-screen like an app, even though it is actually the website. Works on Android and iPhone.

Where to find it: Open omnikyo.com on your phone. On Android, use the three-dot menu. On iPhone, use the Share menu.

Add to home screen on Android (Chrome)

  1. Open omnikyo.com in Chrome.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner.
  3. Tap Install app (or Add to Home Screen, depending on your Chrome version).
  4. A dialog shows the name Omnikyo and an icon. Tap Install (or Add).
  5. The icon appears on your home screen. Tap it to open Omnikyo full-screen.

When you tap the icon, Omnikyo opens without the browser address bar and buttons — it looks like a real app. Tap the back arrow or press the back button to exit.

Good to know: If you do not see "Install app" in the menu, your Android version may not support it. Try Add to Home Screen instead.

Add to home screen on iPhone or iPad (Safari)

  1. Open omnikyo.com in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button (an arrow pointing out of a box). It is in the bottom toolbar on iPhone and the top right on iPad.
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. The app name and icon appear. You can change the name if you want. Tap Add.
  5. The icon appears on your home screen. Tap it to open Omnikyo full-screen.

When you tap the icon, Omnikyo opens full-screen. The status bar is at the top; there is no browser address bar. Tap the back button or swipe left to exit.

How the icon works

The home-screen icon is an installable web app (sometimes called a PWA — progressive web app). When you tap it:

  • Omnikyo opens full-screen without the browser bar.
  • You stay signed in to your account.
  • It is the same dashboard as opening omnikyo.com in a browser.

The icon does not give you offline mode or notifications — if you want those, use the Android app instead.

Question people ask

Can I delete the home screen icon?

Yes. Long-press the icon and tap Remove (or Delete, depending on your phone). The icon vanishes, but your account is fine — you can always add it back by following the steps above.

Does the icon work offline?

No. The home-screen app is just the website, so it needs the internet to work. Use the Android app if you want offline access.

Do I get notifications with the home-screen icon?

No. Notifications only work in the Android app. The home-screen icon does not send notifications.

Which browser should I use?

  • Android: Chrome works best. Firefox, Edge and other browsers often have "Add to Home Screen" in their menus too.
  • iPhone: Use Safari. Other browsers (Chrome, Firefox) cannot add home screen icons on iPhone.

Can I change the name of the icon?

On iPhone, yes — when you add it to the home screen, you can change the name before tapping Add. On Android, the name is Omnikyo and cannot be changed from here (you can rename it after by long-pressing the icon and selecting Rename).
